Our first philosophical discussion is going to encompass a pretty broad subject: inspiration. Do you think that today's games are showcasing true inspiration, or do you think that it's a relic of past titles?
Granted, we are frequently gifted with awe-inspiring titles like Bioshock, Metal Gear Solid IV and Assassin's Creed. However, as games aspire to become more and more realistic, are we losing that element of fantasy and inspiration that we witnessed with games like Final Fantasy VII? It's time to discuss the matter and get your thoughts. Are we limited by our current technology? Are game developers doing enough to transcend the norm? What special element is needed to bring awe and wonder back into the majority of video games?
It's our first real discussion, so have at it. Just remember: be nice, and be civil.
